Asakhe Rigala, a resilient soul from the Eastern Cape, recently found himself on the
winning end of the Fund a Chiller competition hosted by Podcast and Chill network. With
aspirations of bidding farewell to troublesome wisdom teeth and venturing into the world of
baked goods, Asakhe shared his heartfelt journey and future plans in an exclusive
interview.
“Firstly I’d like to thank the Podcast and Chill network and the Chillers for helping me make
this dream a reality,” Asakhe expressed with gratitude. “Honestly, I’m very happy that I got
picked as a winner. I’m also in great relief because these teeth have been bothering me for
months.”
Reflecting on his entry into the competition, Asakhe confessed, “I didn’t think you guys
would pick me at first. I just wrote the letter with the hopes that faith would move
mountains and it did.”
The Impact of winning this competition extends far beyond immediate relief. Asakhe
envisions his victory as a significant leap towards realizing his entrepreneurial dreams. “It
definitely will have a huge impact, it’s a huge Jumpstart, a huge leap,” he remarked. “I think
this will play a huge role in lifting the weight off my parent’s shoulders and starting this
business hopefully will start breaking generational curses.”
The moment of realization, Asakhe recalled, was surreal. “I had already lost hope… But
when I got the call, I was in utter disbelief. I don’t even have the words to express the
feeling, man,” he shared.
With his newfound support, Asakhe plans to revolutionize his community through his
baked goods business. “I don’t believe you have to be 35 to be someone’s role model,” he
asserted. “I just want to be a point of reference to the kids.”
His message to others facing similar challenges or nurturing entrepreneurial dreams is one
of faith and resilience. “Faith is very important,” he emphasized. “And they should know
that life is possible even if education doesn’t really work out for you. Just be creative.”
In a world filled with uncertainties, Asakhe’s story serves as a beacon of hope, illustrating
the transformative power of perseverance, community support, and unwavering faith. As
he prepares to embark on his entrepreneurial journey, one thing remains certain – Asakhe
Rigala is poised to make an indelible mark, not only in his community but in the hearts of
those inspired by his unwavering spirit
